The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons on the autism spectrum disorder. We envision a society where Filipinos on the spectrum become the best of their potentials -- self-reliant, independent, productive, socially-accepted citizens of an Autism-OK Philippines.

Building Local Chapters

The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) has grown from the 11 mothers who bonded together for the causes of their children in 1989 to nearly 13,000 members, with 97 chapters all over the country.

Leading in Autism Advocacy

The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) increases public awareness about challenges faced by Filipinos on the spectrum, advocating for appropriate services, and providing the latest information regarding intervention, education, and advocacy. It is comprised of persons with autism, families, teachers, and educators whose lives have been touched by autism.

Speaking in Unison

The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) reaches out to the many communities across the islands to organize and help make available services and support to persons with autism and their families, in close coordination with government agencies, local government units, and community builders. Our chapters remain to be driving force behind the organization's meteoric growth.

ASP Brand Workshop for Chapter Creatives

ANNOUNCEMENT: The ASP Brand Workshop for Chapter Creatives will be reschedule on 7 October 2023 at 10am.

The Autism Society Philippines will hold a brand workshop on 30 September 2023, Saturday, at 3:30 pm. The workshop will provide our chapter leaders involved in creating grassroots creative materials with a deeper understanding of ASP's branding principles and policies. During the workshop, we will also offer hands-on guidance on using the newly developed toolkit, which was collaboratively created with volunteers from Canva Philippines.

Chapter leaders who are keen to participate can complete the form provided. Kindly review the following recommendations to ensure a seamless workshop for everyone.

- Each ACTIVE chapter may send two attendees.
- Attendee must be a REGULAR member.
- Attendee must be technology-proficient.
- Attendee must attend the workshop using a laptop. A phone will not suffice, as multiple screens must be opened simultaneously.
- Attendee must be proficient in Zoom and knows how to share screen. The workshop includes exercises requiring attendees to show their work.
- Attendee must create a Canva account BEFORE the workshop.
- Only attendees who complete the workshop will be given access to the ASP template library.

If the chapter does NOT have anyone who can attend the workshop or do not have leaders or members who are proficient in graphic design, they may send requests for assistance to Abby Mendoza, Communications Assistant at the ASP National HQ. She can help in the creation of materials for chapter initiatives.

Deadline for signup is 29 September 2023, noon to give ample time for membership validation.

ASPs family support group sessions bring together parents, siblings, and other family members to talk about their journey in living with autism. Participants share their experiences and draw enlightenment and strength from others going through the same challenges.

The Autism Society Philippines -- together with this month's host, ASP Davao -- welcome members and non-members, bound by a common experience that is autism. We aspire to educate, empower and inspire to help build an Autism-OK Philippines.

Our Moderators:

Maria Joyla Ofrecia empowers families in the care and instruction of children and youth on the autism spectrum, as a valuable resource to the ASP Early Detection and Early Intervention Program, ASP Education Committee and the ASP HOMEpowerment Program. She organized and mentors the ASP chapters towards good governance and sustainability as the ASP MM- Rizal Cluster Head.

Her eldest is Juris, a young man on the autism spectrum. She has been a hands-on mother and for almost 16 years, has been implementing home intervention programs along with other center-based interventions not just for her own son but also for other children on the spectrum.

Imelda Rendon She has been a speaker for ASP's Autism Sensitivity Orientation. She trained the job coaches for ASP’s Autism Works Program. She is also the Program Director of Rainbow Intervention Center for Autism Foundation Inc. (RICAFI).
