The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons on the autism spectrum disorder. We envision a society where Filipinos on the spectrum become the best of their potentials -- self-reliant, independent, productive, socially-accepted citizens of an Autism-OK Philippines.

ASP Family Support Group for January 2009

In line with the celebration of the 13th Autism Consciousness Week, ASP presents the first Family Support Group Meeting.

Our facilitator for this month is Ms. Grace Adviento. She is a physical therapist by training but a copy center entrepreneur by profession. This woman of many talents is an invaluable resource to ASP. Her down-to-earth and magnetic appeal makes her one of the best facilitators of ASP's Early Detection and Intervention Program. Mother to 7-year old Adrian, she serves her second term in the ASP Board and is the present Vice President of ASP.

Hear straight from Grace an excerpt from the upcoming FSG: "I ound myself in a twilight zone. The feeling is like dreaming while awake. I felt numb. I was shocked, in denial, angry and depressed all at the same time. The dreams I had for my son, going to Ateneo or becoming a congressman, were thrown out of the window. However, I discovered that the more I shared my experiences to others, acceptance of Adrian easier and my own recovery quicker.”

Hurry, call 7-903-5496 to book your seats (only 15 pax available) on 24 January 2009, Saturday, at 1pm ASP Office, Room 307, ML Building,# 47 Kamias Road, Quezon City.
