WREATHLAYING AND HOLY MASS CELEBRATION

As a kick-off activity, a Holy Mass will be held to offer thanksgiving for the NDPR Week celebration, in coordination with government and non government organizations involved in the implementation of programs for/of people with disabilities. It aims to pay tribute to the “Sublime Paralytic,” Apolinario Mabini, who is considered the icons of Filipinos with disabilities. This activity is spearheaded by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. (PFRD)

This is a 3-day fair by self-help groups of persons with disabilities showcasing and selling their products aimed at expanding their market opportunities. It will top bill the latest assistive devices for PWDs to increase public awareness. Simultaneous trainings and seminars for PWDs will be held on: a.) Product Design and Packaging Lecture; b.) Enterprise Management Seminar; and c.) Skills Courses.
An information booth will be set up on different institutions that train and/or support the sector. Spearheading this activity is the Department of Trade and Industry, in sync with government and non-government sectors.
July 18-Saturday
FUN DAY FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES
SM, North

This day aims to promote the “right to leisure and participation” of children with disabilities and offers fun bonding activities for them and their families. It is a four fold treat: 1.) Parade inside the Mall 2.) Program with raffles and other freebies for children with disabilities and their parents which will include: a.) free face painting, b.) hair cutting, c.) body massage and d.) group sketching. Short performances shall also be part of the program. 3.) Optional Free Movie at the Dome 4.) 702-DZAS Concert for PWDs. Celebrities shall perform as a treat to children with disabilities. It will be led by the National Council on Disability Affairs in tandem with SM Supermalls, and other government, non-government and people’s organizations.

On this day, a Mass slated in SM Megamall, will be offered for persons with disabilities and the NDPR Week celebration’s success, through the synergy of different GOs, NGOs, and Pos. it will also be aired in channels 4 and 23.

“M.O.V.E.” Run and Sports Fest

With PARM and PHILSPADA at the helm, this event will combine a Run for exercise awareness of the community, plus a fundraising activity for PWDs called the PARM Critical Illness Fund (CIF). There will be 3 categories for the Run: a.) 10K, b.) 5K and c.) 2.2 run

PALIGSAHAN SA KASAYSAYAN AT KULTURA PARA SA MAY “K”

This is a culture and history “quiz bee-type” of contest with selected disability current events, to be participated in by secondary students with disabilities enrolled in special education centers/schools in Metro Manila and suburban areas. It will serve as an excellent forum to showcase academic skills of disability students in the abovementioned fields.

"K" PIHAN NG MGA BOADKASTERS

It is a half-day briefing of the interface with 30 radio Broadkasters on the promotion of the rights of PWDs based on the UN-CRPD and local enabling laws. This would update the broadcasters on the latest disability trends and specific ways they could best advocate the rights of PWDs. This is a collaboration between NCDA and DZAS-702 FEBC.

This mission will make available for “free” medicines, hearing tests, tooth extraction, eye examination, laboratory tests including blood typing and referrals, for persons with disabilities on this day. Volunteer Doctors and other allied medical professionals from government and non-government health care agencies will compose the medical team. This will provide a venue to address the health problems of persons with disabilities and free them from the financial burden of high costs of medical-related services.

JOB FAIR AND SKILLS EXPO
SM North EDSA

This event is two-pronged to effectively launch the PWDs as part of the country’s productive workforce: 1.) enrolment of PWD/non-disabled job applicants and; 2.) work skills expo to top bill topnotch work skills of PWDs in various trades, to be mounted in SM North EDSA Annex.
It is a special activity where employable persons with disabilities and employers meet and match. Prospective companies with job vacancies whose requirements match the skills of persons with disabilities (PWDs) are invited to screen/interview qualified PWDs. The Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Local Employment and National Capital regional Office will lead this whole day Expo-Fair.
