The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons on the autism spectrum disorder. We envision a society where Filipinos on the spectrum become the best of their potentials -- self-reliant, independent, productive, socially-accepted citizens of an Autism-OK Philippines.

The Love Angel

By: Cathy Genovia, ASP Program Assistant

An angel chose autism on her birthday last February 20. She gave invitations to friends to come celebrate at El Cirkulo, Makati. In lieu of birthday gifts, she asked them to give to her charity of choice - Autism Society Philippines.

PR Director for GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications, Inc., Ms. Amor Maclang, is the woman behind the successful marketing firm, GeiserMaclang.

GeiserMaclang helped ASP during the autism awareness campaigns for the 2008 Angels Walk for Autism and the 2009 Autism Beyond Borders Conference, as well as through The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Giving in to Giving program.

In the middle of the birthday celebration, Ms. Maclang informed guests about ASP and took the opportunity to tell others to join her in her advocacy.

She also auctioned one of her paintings given by artist friend, Mr. Gus Albor and donated the proceeds of the highest bidder to ASP. Touched by her generosity and gesture, they began to line-up to where I was seated, and donations started pouring in. That day, P28,000 was raised and P40,000 more from the painting!

In behalf of ASP, we would like to greet The Love Angel, Ms. Amor Maclang a Happy, Happy Birthday. Thank you for all the support that you are giving to ASP. And to all our “Angels” namely: Rezza Custodio, RJ Ledesma, Vicente Belizario Jr., Therese Jamora Garceau/ Scott Rene Garceau, Carmela Arlene Quindoza, Mary Ann Rodriguez, Aisa Yap, Femar Integrated, Inc., Elio Machillanda/ Claudia Biasutto, Eunice Acejo, Nerissa Josef and Bubu Andres, thank you so much for bringing smiles to our children with autism.
