Jan 22 1PM Family Support Group

Once a child is diagnosed with autism surely it would break any mother’s heart. At an early stage of the diagnosis, parents will be grieving. Once reality is accepted, it will be the time for parents to seek for anything or anybody who would help them help their child . This is what ASP is for, to help families affected with autism to understand what they are going to. And who would we think who can help those families with autism? Of course those families who are also in the spectrum.

ASP is holding Family Support Group (FSG) every third Saturday of the month at our humble office in Kamias. In celebration of the 15th Autism Consciousness Week, FSG is scheduled at 1PM on January 22, Saturday.

This ACW Celebration, our facilitator will be Ms. Carmel Almendrala. Tita Carmel is one of ASP’s Board of Trustees. A wife of a retired ambassador, she personifies diplomacy as you will always see or hear her representing ASP in media with poise, grace and intelligence in spite of the disconcerting circumstance of educating an ASD child. Her son, Michael now 41 years old is a gold medalist in weight lighting at the Dublin, Ireland Special Olympics for the country. He is also an independent member of the community working as an administrative staff of the Philippine Information Agency.
