MODULE 1: Understanding SENSORY INTEGRATION (SI) and Play: Making Your Home Sensory-Rich Environment.
This module will tackle about the importance of sensory experiences and the importance of active play in child’s development. It will also explain how the brain works during processing information and the reasons behind child’s behavior like rocking on chair, restlessness, fidgeting, etc. Modifying the environment and activities that parents can do at home to facilitate sensory processing will also be discussed.
MODULE 2: BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT.
This module will discuss how to recognize and analyze child’s behavior.
The relationship of the child/ student’s temperament with his/her behaviors will be explained. It will also include topics on:
- Expected behaviors at certain age
- learning strategies on how to increase “good” behaviors
- learning strategies on how to eliminate or decrease “bad” behaviors
- other factors that affect child’s behaviors
- differentiating SI-based behavior and behavior-based problems
