By Jennette Rodriguez, Secretary, ASP UP CAMP Manila
For those who weren’t able to view our Colors of the Autism Spectrum, Photography and Literature Exhibit yet, we would like to invite you to come see it at SM City San Lazaro Activity Center, Upper Ground Floor from January 25 to 31, 2013. Photographs were from the Photography with a Difference (PWD) Workshop we organized last September 2011 at the SM Science and Discovery Center and Manila Zoo.

This exhibit was also displayed at the University of Santo Tomas, St. Martin de Porres (Medicine) Building and SM City Manila on March 2012; and at SM City Fairview on April 2012, in celebration of the 5th World Autism Awareness Day.
In time for the 17th National Autism Consciousness Week, we again would like to use the exhibit to raise awareness about autism in the Sampaloc-Sta. Cruz, Manila area. Since our partner photographers are from UST and that some of the members of ASP UP CAMP Manila chapter are living within the vicinity. Since these moments are rare for special needs families, pictures on display are more of the bonding moments of the families partnered with the poems written by members of the UST Nursing Journal (Photographers' pool and Literary section Batch 2011-2012). We hope these photos would touch the lives of many and make them have a glimpse of the lives of families with kids with autism. Selected pictures from the PWD Workshop were also published in the UST Nursing Journal Photofolio, used in the ASP Posters (National and International Conference), other ASP IEC materials, and ASP Christmas card 2011.
These projects would not be possible without the help of our partners: UST Nursing Journal staff, editors and photographers, Photography With a Difference (PWD) members spearheaded by Sir John and Ma’am Harvey Chua, Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc., SM Cares, SM Supermalls (SM City Manila and SM City San Lazaro), SM Program for Disability Affairs, Manila Zoo, SM Science Discovery Center, volunteer photographers, ASP National Office and each and every family who participated in the PWD workshop.
Thank you all! Let’s continue to spread autism awareness in our country. See you all in our exhibit.
