The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons on the autism spectrum disorder. We envision a society where Filipinos on the spectrum become the best of their potentials -- self-reliant, independent, productive, socially-accepted citizens of an Autism-OK Philippines.

Blessing of Autism Families

April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. This year, it also falls on an important Christian holiday, Maundy Thursday.

We invite ASP members and the rest of the autism advocacy community to join us at 5:30pm, on the steps of the Quezon Memorial Circle for a simple ecumenical prayer assembly where persons with autism, siblings, parents, government officials, and professionals will gather to share their hopes and dreams for all who live with autism. Following our personal prayers will be a community blessing by religious leaders.

Hardin ng mga Bulaklak. Entrance is after Quezon Avenue, across East Avenue.

Participants are requested to:

1. Wear green shirts, preferably an Angels Walk shirts (a security measure) and in case of cloudly weather, an umbrella;
2. Bring a foldable chair or mat to sit on;
3. Bring one candle (with a wind guard) for each participant and matches/lighter;
4. Familiarize yourselves with our community song "One Little Candle".

"One Little Candle"

It is better to light just one little candle
Than to stumble in the dark.
Better far that you light just one little candle,
All you need is a tiny spark.
If we'd all say a prayer that the world would be free,
A wonderful dawn of a new day we'd see
And if everyone lit just one little candle,
What a bright world this would be.
