The Autism Society Philippines (ASP) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons on the autism spectrum disorder. We envision a society where Filipinos on the spectrum become the best of their potentials -- self-reliant, independent, productive, socially-accepted citizens of an Autism-OK Philippines.

Rock with AutiZumba!

You probably have seen fitness professional Ms. Donna Lim many times before -- on television or on stage at every Angels Walk for Autism. It so happens that Donna is also a staunch disability inclusion advocate. Her passion is driven by her love for her daughter Desly, a beautiful young lady on the spectrum.

Donna Lim partnered with Gold's Gym, McDonald's and Robinsons Galleria to bring us "AutiZumba," an inclusive wellness event for the benefit of persons with disabilities and their families, last September 26 and October 3 at the Robinsons Galleria Sports Loop.

Some of our awesome adults with autism took centerstage, as they followed our Zumba instructors and grooved to Latin, hop-hop and club music; while others were lovingly guided by their parents in executing the movements to the best of their capabilities. Robinsons Galleria and Gold's Gym selected the Zumba Kings and Zumba queens -- Miguel Pajaron (a teen with cerebral palsy), PWA Nica EscasiƱas, PWA Angelo So and autism mom Lourdes Cabacang.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to our corporate sponsors who made this amazing event possible. Our love and thanks to Donna Lim, Bismarc Naling, Norman Cabintoy, Tanya Mas, Martiess Pieper and Maricel Infante -- our ASP fitness angels who have stirred in us the aspiration to be an active, healthy community.
