Mommy Grace leads November FSG

Autism Society Philippines Trustee Grace Adviento welcomed 17 participants to the ASP Family Support Group held at the ASP National Headquarters last 21 November 2015. ASP's monthly family support group sessions bring together parents, siblings and other family members to talk about their journey in living with autism. Participants share their experiences and draw enlightenment and strength from others going through the same challenges.

Some participants shed tears, as they expressed their feelings about their life experiences and hopes for their children with autism.
“That we are not alone on our journey and there is hope.”
“This FSG is very helpful for parent like us. There are more and more people with autism; and information should be disseminated.”
“I should attend seminars -- it would really help a lot to answer my questions about autism.”

In our family, I have a cousin who has down syndrome. It's really difficult to have a family member with autism but we didn't think of that because it's still a blessing for our family. We do our best for him, we somehow teach him like a normal child. I'm happy that I can see improvements in him. Hope that someday, he will be better as he grows up.
