Saori Handweaving: Art Therapy

The National Council on Disability Affairs and VSA Arts Philippines is looking for five (5) ASP members to invite to a FREE FREE FREE 2-day Saori Handweaving: Art Therapy on April 12-13, 2016 at NCDA Building, Isidora Street, Barangay Holy Spirit, Diliman, Quezon from 8:00AM to 4:00PM with the theme “Express Yourself.”

PWA participant must be above 18 years old, an independent learner with a inclination for the arts and an ASP member. There would be an exchange of ideas about contemporary hand weaving and a showcase of hand woven of each participant. Deadline for application as an ASP representative is 31 March 2016 at 12noon.

The VSA Arts Philippines in partnership with VSA Japan and SAORI Hiroba Osaka are jointly spearheading this art therapy for persons with disabilities and other persons with interest in this endeavour who can transfer this modern technique of hand weaving. Saori weaving helps people with disabilities become self-reliant and participate in the society.
